Today Technical University in Rzeszow awarded doctorate honoris causa degree to Prof. Małgorzata Witko (on the left on the first picture, in the middle Prof. Marek Potrzebowski, director of the Center of Molecular and  Macromolecular Studes, Polish Academy of Sciences), director of the Intitute of Catalysis and Surface Physicochemistry, Polish Academy of Sciences. I had a pleasure of participating in these celebrations as TUL representative and, at the same time, as a reviewer appoined by our Senate.

Representatives of scientific community of Lodzkie region, under the leadership of Marshal  Jolanta Zięba-Gzik (in the middle of the first picture) and Honorary Consul of Austria in Lodz Szczepana Miłosza (in the middle of the second picture), visited Graz on January 22 and 23 stycznia. The delegation included representatives from University of Lodz, Medical University, Music Academy, , Akademii Muzycznej, Akademy of Fine Arts, and Lodz University of Technology, as well as from the Marshal Office.  I had opportunity to disciuss possibilities of collaboration with rectors or vice-rectors of four technical universities.  As a result talks about collaborative research as educational programs have already started with two of these universities.

In Manufaktura (on January 10th) during the charity fundraising within “Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy” action I’ve collected over 1500 PLN within 1.5 hour!

The attraction of today’s meeting, on Polish investments in the region, of the BCC Lodge branch in Lodz tha was possibility of “holding” Polish Oscar for “Ida” movie. As documented in the picture (with Przemysław Andrzejak, the President of ŁARR) I have jumped at the opportunity

58th Meeting of the Polish Chemical Society has took place on September 21-25 2015 at the Baltic Campus of Gdansk University in Gdansk-Oliwa. The meeting started with elections of new president of PTChem. Professor Jerzy Błażejowski (UG) has been elected to this post. Among invited guests there was former President of Poland, Lech Wałęsa (on the left on the picture, on the right Prof. Jacek Namieśnik, former Dean of Faculty of Chemistry, PG).
